2022 Martin 000-28 Standard Series Natural Acoustic Guitar + OHSC

C. F. Martin 000-28 Custom Shop Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (2022), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 2681169, natural lacquer finish, Indian rosewood back and sides, Adirondack spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.

This guitar is the "standard" model Martin Custom Shop 000-28, with generally vintage features but not the more specific "Authentic" construction that pushes the price up a few grand! It is built to the mid-1930s 14 fret 000-28 spec, with an Adirondack spruce top with 5/16" scalloped X-bracing, also made of Adirondack spruce. The back and sides are straight grained East Indian rosewood. The top is trimmed with Martin's "antique white binding with bold herringbone" inlay along the edge, with a tortoise pattern pickguard and ebony belly bridge set up with a drop-in bone saddle.

The 14 fret neck is mahogany with Martin's "Modified Low Oval, High Performance Taper" profile, topped with an unbound ebony fingerboard with slotted diamond abalone inlay and a bone nut. The headstock is Martin's traditional square taper shape capped with East Indian rosewood and featuring the decorative diamond volute on the back that is a Style 28 trademark.

The instrument features a gloss lacquer body finish with Aging Toner on the top and a satin neck finish. A K&K contact pickup has been added under the bridge plate for live use. This is a practically new instrument with a big warm sound that will develop further after some actual play time.

Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 15 1/4 in. (38.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
